In a world where alchemy has become taboo and is considered evil, Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land follows the adventures of Yumia Liessfeldt and her companions as they seek to uncover the truth behind the fall of the Aladissian Empire, unravelling the mysteries behind the cataclysm that destroyed Aladiss. Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land is the latest game in Gust’s beloved Atelier franchise, showcasing a colorful new cast led by the stunning Yumia.
Yumia wields a staff with the ability to shoot. This feature lets her collect distant ingredients during exploration or gain an advantageous start in battles by hitting monsters from afar!
Travel across the vast continent that was once the Aladissian Empire, where all civilization has perished. Explore a vast open world made up of different biomes as you make your way through these unknown lands.
Not only will fans be able to craft items without having to return to their base thanks to the “Simple Synthesis” feature, but for the first time in the series, fans will be also able to build, furnish, and decorate their own base with the all-new “Building” feature!

Enjoyable Game
Atelier meets Zelda. Open world. Fast combat. Lots of battle options for attacking and defending. Can swap characters for quick counterattacks. In-depth crafting and synthesizing. Takes problem solving and studying map to get around cliffs and canyons. Can double jump to work your way up certain routes, but can’t climb like in Zelda. Can find markers to quick travel. Gunstaff allows for some cool effects like gathering materials from afar and lowering an enemy’s defense before battling. The guided synthesis option helps select best materials for crafting weapons and items. Can build your atelier from scratch. Atmosphere is a little more subdued than past games like Lulua. For someone who has played the Ryzas, Mysterious series and Lulua, I recommend this game.

Sophie > Yumia >>>>>> Ryza
You should buy this because she’s not Ryza. She also didn’t steal her familiar from another companies IP *coughCARBUNCLE*Her staff can also shoot bullets!I’ll take ez mode synthesis over an overly complicated sunny/rainy/day/night item required for story progression.

My first atelier game
I played the demo on switch and it ran really well. I heard people online saying the framerate was constantly dropping but I didn’t notice that in the full game. I like the open world areas and the combat is satisfying.

I have all the atelier games, this one is my least favorite.
It’s very simplistic and a lot of it seemed more annoyances than fun versus other atelier games. Ryza and Sophia seemed like awesome steps forward. Not sure why they went this direction, but new ideas and trying new things never a bad thing long as learn from the problems. Also this one I had a lot of trouble staying in game and finishing it. Finally sat down last few days and ps5 platinum it. Even the end didn’t grab me. This one’s getting deleted and boxed. So many other atelier games I rather replay than this one

Needlessly complicated and Poor choices Made
While I am still relatively new to the Atelier series, as I was introduced to the franchise with Atelier Ryza, I have played enough of them to know what to expect and was able to get into them because only the things that should be challenging were. From these past experiences, I decided to give this game a try, and even though I was not expecting things to be like they were for the Mysterious trilogy plus Sophie 2, or even the Ryza trilogy, I found myself within the first few minutes frustrated with things that I shouldn’t be frustrated with, like shooting stuff to solve puzzles, which the devs made incredibly difficult because of how the camera works while aiming, and things that would typically utilize only one button in many other RPGs require two different buttons, such as operating some switches. However, what really took the prize for worst decision ever in an RPG was separating items during battle. Equipping items themselves are needlessly complicated to begin with, as you have to go into two different places to equip items, depending on it they are weapons or restoratives/support, but when it comes to battle, you don’t have access to all your items on a single screen/panel, even tabbed, they give you easy access to attack items, but then they make you utilize one of the buttons meant to evade to bring up support items.I am not expecting perfection from a team like Gust, but these issues alone, among many other problems, makes me feel like giving up on Atelier, despite having only played two trilogies, the remake of the very first game, and Sophie 2.
