Great Product, Superb Support!
I’ve been helping some family to replace an old computer and set up new tech in their home. I needed this type cable to connect a monitor with a VGA port to a new computer, through the HDMI connection on a USB-C Hub. After doing a lot of comparison shopping and looking at reviews, price, and build materials, I chose this gold-plated HDMI to VGA cable from Benfei. It shipped out to my family’s address and arrived very quickly! In fact, given travel concerns during the pandemic, it was able to arrive to them a full two months before I got there!When first setting up the system, everything seemed great. The cable was decently packaged, felt very solidly constructed, and connected easily. More importantly, it worked. But after just about a week of very light / intermittent use, it started to fail. In less than two weeks, it was a complete dud. No reliable picture transfer whatsoever … just static garble or a dead screen. We tested each piece of hardware and each connection, and finally determined that it was this brand new cable. Frustrating for the family and disappointing for me!But here’s the thing … when I reached out to Benefi to ask about their replacement / return / refund policy, they responded within just a matter of HOURS. And despite their being a huge time difference between us, they even apologized that it took them THAT long to reply. So very responsive! What’s more, they actually took the time to read my note explaining the problem and the troubleshooting steps that I had taken.I didn’t ask for anything other than to understand their policy. The response? Immediate apology for the situation and reassurance that my investment in them was protected. Full replacement and an extended 2-year warranty! They went out of their way to promise that if there’s anything else I need, they’d work with me to fix it. Period. Utterly amazing. I confirmed the shipping info (again, to my family) and they wrote back that it was out the door with 2-day shipping. This ALL happened — from my first letter to the package leaving their hands — in less than 24 hours!! And the package that was supposed to be shipped 2-day mail arrived … THE VERY NEXT DAY!All of this is to say that they made an amazingly good impression. I got genuine, human help and felt very good about my choice to buy from them. I don’t remember the last time I found a company that stands behind its product so strongly.Also, for what it’s worth (and it should be worth a lot), the replacement cable has been performing flawlessly for several weeks now, with a solid amount of use! I highly recommend.

HDMI Cable. Pretty good for the price. I haven’t faced any issue yet. Cable could be a bit better. But for the price, Premium Cable would mean that they are taking losses. So it’s fine.

Quality product but probably won’t work
VGA and SVGA are analog signals. HDMI is digital. If you are buying this cable you’re probably upgrading a monitor and have a VGA/SVGA output from your PC.You’ll most likely need a powered dongle, [VGA/SVGA] analog to digital converter.

I researched but it kinda of fit the Thinkpad VGA port but the Asus monitor said no signal. The same monitor worked with a newer Microsoft laptop. I had no instructions to follow do it a return.

Unfortunately although reasonably priced, this item was not suitable for my application. I was trying to hook up a standard monitor through VGA, to my Mac Mini via the HDMI port in the mini, but did not realize that there is no analog signal present on the mini’s HDMI port, which is strictly digital. I have since purchased a HDMI to DVI cable and the problem is resolved. If I had not opened the package I could have returned the item. The cable works fine to hook my laptop to a VGA monitor but it’s unlikely to be something I will use. So A NOTE TO ALL POTENTIAL BUYERS… make sure your HDMI carries an analog signal before attempting to use this sort of cable to hook your VGA monitor to your computer. This item will not work with an M1 Mac Mini. If your monitor has an DVI port, buy a HDMI to DVI cable.
