Great Quality, Great Value
I use this mostly to blend liquids (shakes, batter for pancakes etc.). For that it’s great, and the price I paid is a lot less than I would have expected for Cuisinart ($79). I like the plastic jar, rather than the glass one on a lot of other machines. Of course, some people will find this a turn-off. Actually, the whole unit is made of plastic, but looks like stainless steel from a distance. It’s quite powerful (and noisy) and presumably would do a good job blending fruits etc. Be careful cleaning it, though. The first time I did this, I cut a finger on the blades. I bought a brush for cleaning babies’ bottles, and that worked well.

Bungled Blender Design
Having read a good percentage of the reviews, I was surprised that this blender is not only not very powerful, it has a huge design flaw: if the blades get stuck on a hard nut or piece of ice, the blades spin in the other direction, and unscrew the bottom of the blender. This makes an enormous mess, and the only workaround is threading the blade cap extremely tight, so much that you need a grip pad to remove it again when you are cleaning the unit. Due to this, I tend to watch it very carefully, and keep the blending to short bursts. Which for this price, is just not a good customer experience. The quality of the blend is ok, and it’s easy to clean, but the potential mess factor outweighs almost all of the positives. If I hadn’t already recycled the box, this would be on its way back to the supplier, and I will not buy a Cuisinart product again based on the lack of basic engineering quality control.

Took 5 returns of other blenders before I landed on this one! It’s perfect!
I did literally return 5 other blenders and never thought I would find the perfect one, but this is it! Perfect counter size. Effortless to clean after unscrewing the bottom and wash in the sink or dishwasher. I make a smoothie every day and that is what I bought it for. I use the smoothie size fruit packets from Costco that are frozen and it grinds them up quickly. I feel like this is a true work horse! I’ve bought my last blender!

Not Correct Color
Ordered the white version but got the stainless steel color (it’s plastic). Not returning for correct color since we really need a blender today. One would expect better since I paid full price for the blender. Blender itself is powerful for smoothies, and it is a replacement for the same model whose blade assembly broke. Had repaired that assembly once already, but decided to buy a new one since it was already 3 years old. Still, the old model (SPB-650) outlasted the cheap Ninja we had that broke its suction foot after just a few uses and never could really make the smoothie smooth 🙂 Would give this new version (SPB-650P1) blender a 4 but have to take a point off for getting the wrong color.

Great Bar Blender
Just use this for bar drinks. Compact, which is perfect. Good quality, powerful, easy to use and clean. Replaced an older Cuisinart, which kept tripping our new ARC circuit breakers. No tripping with this new one.
