Surprised how many features actually work!
I wasn’t expecting the obstacle avoidance to actually work, it does! The optical flow works pretty good, I moved a target on the floor and the drone followed it pretty decently. I can’t confirm the flight time yet though. I totally wasn’t expecting the camera angle adjustment to actually be controlled by the remote control but it is! I am not a drone professional but wasn’t expecting much for the $45 the KF109 cost with coupon.Issues: 1) when the power starts to get low the drone starts to become hard to control, there is no low power indicator on the remote or app. If the lights start to flash bring it down quick. 2) each time you start it, the rates are at 30%. The remote has no indicator to tell you what level they are at, if the rates are changed on the remote the app doesn’t update to show what they are. You may think you have full control when it’s windy and actually only have 30% causing a crash. 3) the app does not have camera angle adjustment buttons, so if flying without the remote the camera is in a fixed position. 4) the obstacle avoidance sensor is not affixed firmly, nothing really holds it into place except friction.I’m sure I will find more wrong with it but for now overall I do like it.

Pretty fun starter drone
For the price, this is a fantastic starter drone. It’s feature rich and works pretty darn well. The batteries are good for about 10 minutes of steady flying. The controller, oddly, takes AA batteries while the drone’s batteries are Micro-USB charged.The control is responsive, has a “speed” button for a little extra juice, but overall it’s not particularly fast. It’s not a racing drone by any means, but it is sluggish – has trouble competing with a light (i.e. a gentle jingle from your wind chimes) breeze.Getting the video to connect is a little odd, relying on a PAN-style network, but it works.The shoulder buttons on the controller are a little difficult to reach while using it, so don’t expect any cinematic shots with carefully followed camera work. The camera just has a few positions it snaps to on a vertical track.The camera itself does leave something to be desired. It says it records at 24 FPS, but really it’s more like 10. It’s practically impossible to navigate with just the camera.It also comes with a nice case and extra propeller blades, which is cool.All in all it’s a fun toy. I got it to introduce my 9-year old to drones and the sort and it does a great job of that.

Good entry level drone for kids and some adults
I ordered this drone for my husband who has always wanted to play with a drone and had no experience. There is a learning curve, but he persisted. The drone held up well to a small crash so has good impact survival ability. A grandson who had drone experience helped him with the controls and camera set up. I asked the grandson for his feedback. He said the obstacle air sensor comes off quite easily but is also easy to get back on. He also noted the front and back of the drone are not marked so it’s difficult to know which direction it’s facing. He liked it’s compactness and the carrying case. The batteries last about 10″ and take awhile to charge but we didn’t time how long. It doesn’t do well in wind but was OK with a very light breeze. Both my husband and grandson felt this was a good price for the quality of this drone which takes photos and has good features for both steadying and surviving mild crashes.
