Your home office needs a printer that’s fast, affordable, and easy to use. That’s why we developed the EcoTank ET-4800 – an innovative cartridge-free solution that uses high-capacity, easily refillable ink tanks. So you’ll worry less about running out of ink, and save a lot on replacement ink (1). The ET-4800 features genuine Epson print quality, an auto document feeder, fax, a high-resolution flatbed scanner, and convenient color display – making it the perfect basic home office printer. Epson strongly recommends the use of genuine ink to ensure optimal print quality and performance. Use of non-genuine ink could cause damage not covered under the printer’s ltd. wnty. | 1. Actual savings and costs will vary considerably based on print tasks, print volumes and usage conditions. Savings and cost per ISO page are based on the cost of replacement ink bottles and the cost of enough standard cartridges to achieve the total page yields of the bottles using the MSRP (USD) and yields for Epson standard-capacity ink cartridges for similarly featured Epson consumer inkjet printers as of March 2024. | 2. Individual cartridges estimate based on print yields of an included or replacement set of black and color ink bottles as compared to Epson standard-capacity ink cartridges for similarly featured printers as of March 2024. | 3. Part of the ink from the included bottles is used for initial setup; yields are lower than those of replacement ink bottles. Replacement and included ink bottle yields based on the ISO/IEC 24712 pattern with Epson’s methodology. Actual ink yields will vary considerably for reasons including images printed, print settings, temperature and humidity. Yields may be lower when printing infrequently or predominantly with one ink color. All ink colors are used for printing and printer maintenance, and all colors must be available for printing. For more information, visit www.epson.com/inkinfo | 4. Based on average monthly document print volumes of about 125 pages. | 5. See www.epson.com/voice for device compatibility. Epson Connect account and voice-activated account registration required. | 6. Most features require an Internet connection to the printer, as well as an Internet- and/or email-enabled device. For a list of Epson Connect enabled printers and compatible devices and apps, visit www.epson.com/connect | 7. Requires Epson Smart Panel app download. Data usage fees may apply.

Great Printer with no Annoying Ink Subscription!
Note: This printer came with the oddest packing materials I’ve ever seen in my life. And you do NOT want to step on one of these late at night! It makes a LEGO brick underfoot feel good! The Epson EcoTank ET-4800 is a breath of fresh air in a world dominated by frustrating ink subscriptions and overpriced cartridges. Instead of forcing you into a monthly payment plan just to keep your printer functional, Epson gives you a massive ink reservoir that you refill yourself—no hidden fees, no sneaky auto-renewals, just straightforward printing.Performance & Print QualityFor a home or small office printer, the ET-4800 delivers solid performance. The print quality is crisp for documents, and while it’s not a professional photo printer, it handles color prints well enough for most everyday needs. The scanner works smoothly, and the automatic document feeder (ADF) is a nice bonus for scanning multiple pages.Ease of Use & SetupSetting up the printer is refreshingly simple. Filling the ink tanks is surprisingly mess-free, and once you’re up and running, you won’t be constantly swapping out tiny, overpriced cartridges. Epson includes a generous amount of ink in the box—enough to last thousands of pages—which is a game-changer compared to traditional inkjet models.Cost EfficiencyThis is where the ET-4800 really shines. The upfront cost is higher than a standard inkjet, but you quickly recoup that with the absurdly low cost per page. The ink bottles are much cheaper in the long run than cartridges, and you’re not held hostage by a subscription service just to keep printing.Potential DrawbacksIt’s not the fastest printer on the market, and the lack of duplex printing (automatic double-sided) is a small inconvenience. The display screen is tiny and not touchscreen, so navigating menus can feel a bit outdated. But if you’re prioritizing cost savings and reliability over bells and whistles, these are minor trade-offs.Final VerdictThe Epson EcoTank ET-4800 is a fantastic option for anyone tired of the traditional inkjet printer racket. No subscriptions, no constant cartridge swaps—just a reliable, cost-effective printer that does what it’s supposed to do. If you print regularly and want to save money (and frustration) in the long run, this is one of the best choices out there.

NO clear, crisp colorful formal printer. Ink life and $$ is #1 reason to purchase this.
This Epson ET-4800 printer is so valuable because of the ink cartridges!!!! They are so great and not ROBBING me. Finally. It is so economical. That being said, the printing is good for home, light school or office review or drafts. The colors are so so. Nothing is crisp and colorful….the pictures are not some that you would print for photos. Great for teens or as stated, printing emails to read or review. It is what a ‘home office’ can utilize. If you want a crisp, colorful laser quality printer, an affordable option may be a professional local print shop services place. For home, this is really economical ink and printing.

Epson ET-4800 is a piece of junk!!
This printer is HORRIBLE!!! I’ve owned it for 60 days, 30 days past the return period, and the more I use it, the worse the printer quality is … so now I’m stuck as AI says Epson will not accept returns based on a manufacturing defect when purchased through an Amazon seller! Thirty days (per the Amazon seller policy) was simply not enough time to properly learn/test the machine. I’m having two major issues and have two machine design complaints. First the design complaints. (1) The 1″ x 1″ display window is way too small and requires too many clicks to get anything done. PLUS, when you are done setting/changing the settings, the “OK” button is supposed to signify being done but it just repeats itself over and over. It never actually seems to accept the setting. It beeps “Invalid” with nearly everything I try to do!! (2) The machine is advertised as having “two-sided” copying capability … but it’s MANUAL!! You have to manually refeed the paper through and reinstruct the printer to print on the back side. Given that situation, ANY PRINTER could advertise two-sided copying!! Here are the two manufacturer defaults I’m dealing with. I wasted over an hour on the phone with Epson support to try to fix them both, but she was worthless. She was reading from a manual trying to figure it out herself!! She clearly had no idea what she was doing so I eventually just hung up. (1) From the very beginning using this printer, I noticed very faint white lines on all pages printed/copied and tried to fix it through the machines “Maintenance” check. Not only could I not get it fixed with a Nozzle Check or Print Head Alignment, but the white lines just keep getting thicker and thicker! They’re so thick now I couldn’t possibly use anything it prints! (Note: A salesperson at Staples said it probably has a defective roller) (2) The machine also has some kind of glitch that we can’t clear after changing the settings to print 5″ x 7″ envelopes. I’ve changed the paper source/type settings back to “Letter” and “Plain Paper” but it still won’t print without forcing me to work around the glitch. I get an error message that says “Printing is suspended due to paper mismatch.” The Epson support tech tried to tell me it’s because I’m feeding the paper in wrong!! THERE’S ONLY ONE WAY TO FEED THE PAPER!! What was she talking about??!! I’m so frustrated that we wasted our hard-earned money on this piece of junk (potentially a non-disclosed refurbished unit by the seller) … and now I have to spend EVEN MORE money buying a new printer!!

Decent performance printer. Bought on a daily deal. Not disappointed. Photo printing was as expected from Epson. Some partners, trays etc seems a bit flimsy though. Time will tell.

  7. Amazon Customer

I purchased this printer to replace a HP inkjet printer. I thought that the mega tank and other features would satisfy my needs. I liked the mega tank feature, I wouldn’t have to be replacing ink cartridges like the HP printer. What I didn’t like about the Epson ET 4800 printer was the lack of duplex printing and scanning to email or memory stick (usb), features that should be standard on all printers by now.

Very easy to pair with smartphone and computer.Print quality is excellent but I’ll have to wait and see how long the ink will last compared to my old printer.
