LOL It works great!!
Checked out the other reviews when purchasing this. Don’t know WHAT they are doing or talking about. Very easy to install. ALL DRIVERS DOWN LOAD FROM EPSON. I can put my iMac, desk top, to sleep and scanner stays on. Went off once and when I woke iMak up it turned back on. No unplugging , reloading or what ever, just turned back on! Doesn’t make any more noise then my older scanner, No problem. Scans quickly, not MINUTES like reviews stated? Photo quality is fine as well as printed statements. Just got it up n running so will give an update in the future. Don’t know what the other reviewers where talking about. Great little unit, not as bulky as my other Epson scanner was. As a former professional photographer, I have always found Epson to be my choice. Oh yes, price was right!

Very Happy with this Scanner
This scanner has a lot of pros. It’s USB powered which is great. It’s very light, so it’s about as portable as a flatbed scanner can really be. It scans very fast. Image quality is good. The software was easy to install and simple to run. The quick buttons on the front of the scanner are very useful. Really, it’s been great so far. The only minus I have seen is that when you put a paper up against the edge a tiny sliver will be cropped out. Even the instructions say so. Using the edge is a convenient way to line a paper up and so this is a small inconvenience if the image you are scanning goes all the way to the very edge of your sheet.

Doesn’t Come with Manual or Software
Every scanner I’ve ever owned has come with either an instructions sheet or a user manual and software. This one came with nothing but the device and a micro to USB cable. I found this unusual. While I’m all for saving trees, I would have preferred if Epson included at least an info sheet with info on where to download the manual and driver software. Of course, this is not difficult to find on the Epson website. But some instructions would still have been appreciated. Not everyone is tech savvy. My thoughts regarding this device after about 30 document scans:Pros:* Scanner is lightweight* Powered by laptop/computer; doesn’t require a separate power cord* Easy to use* Good quality document scans* Can remove lid (great for creative scans)* Can scan directly to Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.Cons:* Doesn’t scan both sides of documents (you have to individually scan each page which can be time consuming)* Could be faster* Older cable (most computers are using USB-C now)Tip for Mac laptop users: If your Mac has USB-C ports, get a “USB-C to Micro USB cable” to directly connect your Mac to the scanner. The cable costs about $5-8.

Grrrrrr!!!
I’ve had this scanner for more than a year. I only use it every couple of months and it’s gotten to the point where I start to have anxiety attacks when I want to scan something. Unfortunately, I didn’t use it until after the 30 day return window had closed, so I’m stuck with this frustrating piece of junk.I purchased this scanner to replace my old $39 Cannon printer/scanner. The Cannon printer had awful print quality, but scanning was straight forward and worked EVERY time to produce high quality color accurate scans.Since day one, I’ve had problems with this Epson scanner on my Windows laptop because my laptop fails to recognize the scanner even though it’s plugged in and the light is on. (I had this problem on my old computer with Windows 10 and now with my Windows 11 computer.) It used to be a matter of unplugging and repluging the USB cable repeatedly until I happened to get lucky. For the past 6 months, unplugging/ replugging doesn’t work. The ONLY way I can get my computer to recognize the scanner is to go to the Epson website and reinstall the drivers. Like I don’t have anything better to do…Although the Epson V19 has color adjustments as part of the preview function, the scans are fuzzy regardless of DPI, and color is ALWAYS so far off from the original that I have to endlessly waste my time playing with the color adjustments to even get close to the original color.I will NEVER AGAIN purchase another Epson product!

Works great with Epson Scan 2
About 15 years ago I bought an Epson Perfection V33 scanner It served my needs until it stopped working. I recently ordered a Perfection V19 -II as a replacement. I am completely satisfied with it.Epson has stripped down its software to eliminate unnecessary features and improve the essentials. The scans are great! One does need to install the Epson Scan 2 software to get the most out of the device. Make sure when downloading the drivers from the Epson.com site that you select a package that includes Epson Scan 2. I especially value the “Correct Document Skew” setting. If one scans in a document with this setting active the lines of text are made horizontal. Then, cropping to the desired size needs no further straightening. The three images show this feature in operation. In no case was the image rotated after the scan.

Amazing Portable Scanner
I bought this to scan all the photos/documents from the scrap books my mom kept as a kid of me. The picture/document quality is amazing and this makes digitizing everything extremely easy. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable and quality scanner.

Both my PCs, Windows 10 and 11, could not detect the scanner at first. I uninstalled and downloaded the drivers again. Finally, it is working now.Epson software is not the best, but it is working at the moment, so I am changing the one-star review.
