Recommend. Easy to use microwave, but need to learn other multiple functions
Works Well. Recommend. The only small multifuntion & powerful microwave with number keys (that I found.) (The number keys have multiple functions but keys 1-6 are quick touch keys to cook for 1-6 minutes, like typical microwave!) This microwave has 4 primary functions: microwave, airfry, convection, broil, but several others like combination (microwave & airfry), & many other others like melt, defrost & many presets where preset #, weight or time needs to be set.It is about 16.6″D x 20.6″W x 11.88″H, so fits on a small counter & under the cabinets. It did come with a few pages of instructions but should download the complete manual at GE or other websites. We immediately disabled child safety locked door. If “Food” error, open door. (Still reading manual learning about all of its functions.)

WOW! New World for Cooking
We killed our other microwave last month. I had toyed with getting an air fryer but we don’t have much counter space.Enter the AirFry/Microwave combos. I grabbed this one because of the many things it does and the many fine reviews.It measures up to all its tasks. The microwave function itself has come a long way. So even cooking and quiet. Love that the turntable is connected to a piece that is attached to the bottom. No more having the turntable flopping off until you get it lined up with those little nubs. It has less power than our previous microwave but it cooks faster and much more evenly.I just tried the air fry setting and it is a new world.. Perhaps all of them cook chicken breast pieces to this level of tenderness but I was amazed at the flavor and how crisp they were after 5 minutes.I have not tried the broil feature yet nor have I tried toast. That heat element does work with the air fryer so I will assume it has those things well. I guess since it has the brroiler feature that that is why it has the extra insulation. Very easy to clean after it has been on. One good surprise after another. Quiet and competent.The only thing I would have liked would have been some kind of manual to use if you have never done convection or air fry. I would also add what others have added: the controls are a bit hard to see. I will write them up and tape them somewhere on the side.Other than that I am very happy with the price and the performance as well as the size for what it holds. It is a keeper.

Works quite well, but you definitely need to be OK with no backlighting on the control panel.
Functionality seems to be quite good. Microwave heats evenly; power is about 10-20% less than traditional microwaves, but that doesn’t make enough of a difference in overall time to matter. Air frying function is excellent. I like the combi function for things like brussels sprouts and even chicken wings that can benefit from the added browning on top. At 1 cu-ft in volume, you won’t be cooking for a large group, but it is plenty big enough for a small family. The real plus for me is the speed at which it heats up; as compared to my traditional convection oven, it comes up to temperature 10 times faster, consumes far less energy in the process and air fries more evenly.On the negative side and as said by others, the lack of backlighting on the touch pad can be a big drawback; I’m clueless as to why the designer wouldn’t/didn’t include that simple and inexpensive feature. If it is placed in a well-lit location, it is easy enough to read – or if you regularly wear reading glasses for close-in work (like me), it doesn’t matter as much.

Great, great, did I sat Great reliable quiet little microwave at a bargain price
My home came with GE Cafe appliances — supposed to be an upgraded line for GE products — sorry to say my GE microwave during a 3 year period needed repairs multiple times — the LED screen replaced twice and the door switch system replaced– a full new replacement for the GE Cafe goes for around $1000 — ouch! For $179 this GE microwave looks almost identical — same stainless steel and glass, same LED panel — one problem, 1 inch smaller chassis width. I found a way to reframe our expensive Cafe enclosure to look like the 1 inch smaller microwave fits and esthetically looks the same — and it has been working like a champ and also has an air fryer that my CAFE model didn’t have — it’s quieter and has the same wattage power — my repaired CAFE is sitting in a box in storage now — when I sell the house it might go back into the enclosure but the $179 GE microwave is working perfectly like a champ so it has taken over the space once held by the unreliable GE CAFE Microwave.

Great unit. Works quite well. Quiet operation. All features work quite well. Difficult to keep the interior stainless steel clean. Disappointed it did not come with a printed manual. Side vent needs quite a bit of space as it puts out a lot of heat when convection and air fryer functions are used.
