Great all-in-one machine at an economical price
I wasn’t expecting a lot from the OfficeJet Pro 9125e. I’ve had several other home printers in the past, including a laser printer (great because it uses dry toner which doesn’t have the issues an inkjet printer typically has, but is only able to print black and white). I’ve had several inkjet printers, but they all end up having clogged print heads or something that renders them useless after a short amount of time. I thought I’d give this a try, as it could replace my other printers. It’s meant for a small office, as it has pretty high duty cycles. I don’t print a lot; usually recipes, legal documents, and coupons. I may start printing some newsletters for an organization I’m in, so this may work out well. It can print borderless pages, which would make some nice newsletters!Setting up the printer was fairly straight-forward. The printer was packaged nicely, in a bag with a handle that allows you to pull it from the box easily. The included quick-start guide tells you to plug it in, turn it on, select a language and country, and then go to a URL to set the printer up on your computer or phone wirelessly. The first step is to open the paper tray and load the paper. Adjusting the paper tray for letter-sized paper was a bit confusing, as there are little tabs you have to press to adjust the size of the paper tray. It wouldn’t shrink down to the size of the paper, so I just pushed the paper all the way to the back and pushed the tray in. The printer then said it was checking the paper, and said it was successfully loaded.Installing the ink went fine. Then it wants to print an alignment page. Once printed, you put it on the scanner bed, and it scans. That went fine as well. Finally, install HP Smart Printing on the computer and scan for new printers. It didn’t find it on the first try, but did on the second. Connecting was quick and easy. It even got the wifi password from the computer. Once connected it automatically updated the firmware. I didn’t realize it, so I tried printing something and couldn’t. Then the printer chimed and said the firmware was updated.Print quality is fantastic, as is the speed of printing. I enrolled in the HP+ and Instant Ink trial. I got an email saying my new ink cartridges were being shipped, even though I don’t need them yet. I’ll probably cancel the Instant Ink after the trial, as I don’t print a lot, but it may be worthwhile for people/offices that do. Time will tell if the print heads last. Hopefully!

Money Theft – NOT for Small Businesses
First, the printer comes with free ink as all printers should. However the ink that is installed has circuitry which is designed to tell the printer if you have an active “Instant Ink” subscription which quite frankly just means they are stealing money from you. The 6 months free subscription sounds amazing, and might actually be if you actually need ink inside that 6 months. What they are actually doing though is counting on 95% of people not needing ink in that time period which means that you actually did NOT save any money (or spend any extra money that shouldn’t be spent).Best for small businesses and home offices — What this means is they will make the most money off of you. After your “free” 6 months are over, they will start charging you each month based on your subscription package that you sign up for. If you do not print any pages in a month, you get charged. If you go over the amount of pages you thought you needed, you get charged MORE! And all the while they (HP) actually believe that you will be saving money on your ink (UP TO 50% [which does NOT always equal 50%]) when in fact they are charging you a monthly fee for being part of the program even if you minimally use your All-In-One for printing. On top of that they have swindled you into mobile or cloud printing, but the only way that you are allowed to connect with YOUR printer using YOUR network… is by paying THEM a monthly fee… How in the world does that sound right? How are people okay with that? How long before HP starts charging you to breathe? In my case, I have printed a total of 41 pages since I bought the printer in December. I use the scanner all the time though. Just by chance the business card that I put in for this subscription (which was very vague on what it entailed) had been discontinued inside the last 7 months and I have a different card/account. I get an email from HP saying something about my credit card not working… Okay? Well I havent needed ink, so you really shouldnt be charging my card anyways, and until I need ink, I do not need to update my account… WRONG! In order for me to print a document that I need to sign and scan back into my computer, I MUST update my credit card information on the Instant Ink account or my printer will hold my pages hostage. This should be as illegal as people calling to extend your car’s warranty. It s nothing but a scam in which to make more revenue for them at a cost to you as a small business. There are some of you out there that will actually use the maximum amount of pages of your plan each month, and this may actually work in your favor. But it is the rest of us that are paying the added “savings” that you reap when you get your “up to 50% discount on ink”. For the businesses who have tried to do as much electronically as possible and not waste paper… if you buy this product you will waste your money at $X/month for who knows what gain or loss. It is not a great deal. Buy your ink separately and do not waste your time on HP Instant Ink.The printer is great, but the fact that I have a 12 page document that has been held hostage by HP because I MUST be connected to the internet and I MUST pay them money to print off a product that I own with ink that I own is enough to earn HP a one star review. If the printer is available with normal ink for free on purchase, I would say go for it… but do not waste your money on HP Instant Ink!

Fantastic Home Office System System- HP OfficeJet
The HP OfficeJet Pro 9120e Series is a fantastic option for home or small business. It is a durable printer that quickly produces quality documents.A unique item for this multi-device system, it has both a scanner and duplex document feeder. I can’t wait to test that.A few key items during the setup.* The printer cartridges are in slots. The installation felt like it has to be more precise than other models. Once the cartridges are recognized, then the print heads were easy to align.* The HP Smart wizard was very simple and seemed straight forward to me.* Once the printer was on the Wi-Fi, it was very easy for all devices in our household to connect.* Unfortunately, I missed the time limit sign up for HP+ which, their service that includes 3 months of Instant Ink and an extra year warranty. You have to sign up within 7 days of setup.Usage:1. On first activation, the printer takes a few moments to align the printer cartridges. This may seem loud in a very quiet room. After the first time, I expected the setup noise.2. My power cord seems a bit touchy. A slight bump and the printer turns off. I’m going to try a cord replacement since it is a standard type.3. The control panel has a fantastic pivot option. You can adjust it to better and operate the panel. No more neck strain from reading the panel.Overall, I’m enjoying the print speed and quality with the HP OfficeJet Pro 9120e Series. I can’t wait to see what else it is capable of once I get comfortable with the machine.

Todo muy bien, excelente calidad de intensión. lo único que no me gusta es que aunque si imprime en tamaño oficio, solo escanea documentos en tamaño carta. Everything is fine, excellent quality of printing. The only thing I don’t like is that although it does print in legal size, it only scans letter-sized documents.

I had an HP all-in-one Envy a few years ago and it was a great printer, until it just stopped working one day (about 1.5 years after I bought it). I was not impressed. I then bought a similar priced Brother printer, and it was just awful. Prints were terrible. I decided to give HP another chance with this printer, based on reviews and price point. I have been using it for a couple months now and love it. The prints are very good, fast, easy to connect. Scanner is great too. It is a bit loud, but nothing to worry about. Happy with this purchase.

I believe I paid about $260 with Tax.For some reason I had a difficult time entering my Wi-fi Password on the Printer and then I clicked on the WSP button on the back of my Router and it Automatically set the password and The printer works like a Charm….very Fast Printing….I Am Very Happy and I definately recommend HP printers…

If your subscription is expired, you cannot print anything at all. Even the cartridges still have lots of ink. It is very environmental unfriendly. If one of the cartridges is empty, you cannot print anything. If you do not have an HP account, it does not print. It does not allow you to use aftermarket ink cartridges.Stay away from it unless you are willing to spend a lot of money on HP ink cartridges.

HP has been a reliable printer brand for me for many years. After a sad detour with a Brother printer that broke in a way that was totally un-fixable, 2 days after warranty expired, I was in need of a printer so I returned to the HP brand. This printer does a great job. My only, yeah… but… is because you can only print through the app (desktop). You cannot just ‘command P’ (on Mac) and print whatever you want. You have to ensure there is a saved file, open the app, select the file to print, then print. So that is a bit of a pain in the butt. If it was much more straightforward it would be a 5-star printer. As it isn’t, only 4-stars. I still recommend the printer but hope my review will help others know about printing through the app. I didn’t know this was the case and would have chosen something different, that was more straightforward.
