Great sound, quality, features and price!
I own a lot of JBL products, from their home theater Pro Studio line (7.2 speaker system) to headphones, Extreme 4 portable and the 500 soundbar/subwoofer system. I got this for our “cave” and wanted a little more sound and bass than the 500 system I use in my home office. This blew away my expectations! Great JBL quality and sound! Olenty of hard wire connection options as well as seemless vlietooth. The JBL app allows tweaking the system from EQ control to rear speaker volume and a lot of other nice tweaks including a player to control your bluetooth music. The detachable rear speakers can be left connected to the main bar or pulled and placed wherever you want them. They even allow you to run USB C cables to them if you do not want to have to reconnect them to the main bar to recharge, so you can permanently “mount” them and just enjoy/jam out!I have been using JBL equipment for 25+ years, and this system continues the great quality, sound and pricing that I expect from JBL! I will probably wind up getting the 1000 or 1300 system for our main living room home theater with the way the 500 and this 700 system has performed! I highly recommend this for anyone wanting a great sounding system without the amo and sepeeate speakers with speaker wire running everywhere! Thanks for continuing to rock, JBL!

Seriously, this sound system is amazing. Barely have to put up the audio and it definitely gets the sound through. Setup is easy and that bass… so so good. Not to mention the dialogue really cuts through comparatively to other sound systems I’ve used. Like a theater. Plus, the true wireless nature of those back speakers is awesome. Plus, you can charge them where they are at with a usb c cable.Now my non 5 star review goes to Amazon’s handling of shipping. This item that should have been at my place in a couple days, for whatever reason, took over a week to get to me. Part of the reason I got this system specifically was due to it being in stock and would be able to get to me fast – I know not the biggest issue. It’s more just that I’ve had an issue with Amazon recently getting stuff my way – and this specifically was one of the more egregious. Just constantly pushing back the arrival date, which would not allow me to cancel the order, going from my state – close by – to another state, far away and then back again. Just seems like they would have actually been better about this.

Setting up this system was extremely easy. While the instructions themselves were cryptic (no words just pictures), I barely needed them. Upon plugging in the soundbar everything worked more or less automatically. Upon connecting an HDMI cable to the ARC ports my tv connected to it automatically and the sound bar automatically switched to that input. The speakers all sound great, and the subwoofer is powerful – to the point I normally keep it around level 3 (out of 5) to best match “movie theater” mix levels. The rear speakers are really convenient being completely wireless – though being so small, mobile, and ultimately battery powered, they have limited power. They do the job and achieve a very decent surround experience, in line with what you’d expect of a $900 system. All-in-all, I would definitely recommend this system to others.

Lacking in rear speaker volume control
Buyer beware of limited options to control the volume of the rear speakers for such an expensive item.The main reason I purchased this system was for the wireless rear speakers. I have found them lacking in the volume control options to reach a high volume.The volume during the calibration process is quite loud in both the front and the rear so the capability is in the system. It seems like JBL assumes they are the best arbiter of what the volume of the rear speakers should be in relation to the overall volume levels of the system rather than their customers.I did reach out to the seller and JBL which both were extremely helpful. The problem is with the control of the rear speaker volume not the seller.The volume control for the rear speakers has just 3 options, low, medium, and high. What? in 2025?I wish I could control the volume so the front speakers volume is lower and the rear speaker volume higher but the system doesn’t really allow for that except for the low, medium and high options noted already. You can lower or raise them separately but the rear volume is never high enough for my liking because of only 3 volume options and high doesn’t cut it no matter what the overall volume is.Just a few other notes:1) The sub woofer is huge (size wise) so be sure you have space.2) The overall system is good but I feel it is too pricey for what you get and a different system would be a much better value for the average person if it has wireless rear speakers.3) The connectivity is amazingly easy. Basically as they said in the old days “Plug and Play” and the accompanying setup instructions were severely lacking. (Think a large piece of IKEA furniture with lots of pieces with only pictures and not much text)4) The system looks great with the matte black finish so no reflection issues in your room.One final note if you got this far.It says it in the setup (I think) but it is easy to miss. To ensure the best sound there are two steps to calibrate the systemDuring the first step of the calibration process be SURE and place the rear speakers ON THE SEAT where you will be sitting most of the time and then during the second step of the calibration place the rear speakers in their final position.

Currently there is no setting to lower the dynamic range, to help keep the dialogue clear in films, often called Night Mode on other soundbars. I really hope they can release this option in a future firmware update. It recently received an update which greatly improved the the level of EQ customization. I wish the customizable Moment button had more options, such as activating only the side speakers (which I believe they call Night Mode or something similar, but it’s not the same). Overall sounds great though, surround speakers are definitely convenient. Would recommend getting it on sale (seems it’s constantly on sale), don’t know if it’s worth “full price”.

Absolutely amazing sound.Set up was a breeze, wireless sub is awesome and powerful, wireless background speakers can be placed anywhere around the house filling the whole house with music, allowing you to control the volume ranges on them as well.I’m impressed with this system, better than I expected, they could have advertised this better lol!!!

I had quite a few soundbars and this is absolutely fantastic! The sound is absolutely insane! The bass is so deep and powerful and the Dolby Atmos is just brilliant! You won’t regret for sure.
