Happy, yet a bit disappointed (updated BETTER review)
Have decided to update my initial review. Initial review below this new paragraph.UPDATED REVIEW AFTER PLAYING FOR A WEEK: I still don’t have the more lifelike water animations but keep reading that vibrant visuals will soon be a thing, however the availability of add-ons thru the Minecraft Marketplace made a big difference for me. With the 3500 “coins” I found an awesome furniture add-on that has made my building experience so much fun. And I have enough coins to get even more add-ons. Also look up what the June 2025 update will have – Flying Ghasts you can tame and ride in the sky. But some of us may have to wait for that to drop. It seems the Bedrock version is always behind the JAVA edition. The June 2025 also dropped a recipe for a new jukebox record recipe. The one thing that seems to be missing is consistent music playing in background. In my old 360 version I could play music assortments continuously. In this Bedrock version Xbox X version music will start, then stop for a very, very long time. I’m hoping the music disc recipe that came in June 2025 update will work better. However, I just found out you have to download a free music pack for best result. The old review is below.FIRST REVIEW: I played this years ago and was impressed by watching YouTube videos of people playing. I’m having fun with the Bedrock version for Xbox X but was expecting more. The moving water animations, sky, and greenery are not at all like I observed on YouTube. The water/wave effects were stunning on You Tube, but I’m only getting old version style animation. My biggest complaint is there seems to be no music. You can use the jukeboxes but the music isn’t very good and it only seems to play once then complete silence again. I have sound but the problem is the music. Have looked into this and you have to get a specific music pack. This is the info I found – In Bedrock Edition of Minecraft, you may not be able to hear music due to several reasons. First, you might need to download a free music pack from the marketplace and activate it. While there are a few more options and items it seems this version is still mostly old 360 style. Perhaps the versions for PC’s are more advanced. I hope in the future there will be updates so user experience will be uniform across platforms. I’m a little disappointed and hoping the consoles catch up to improve the user experience. I haven’t turned in the 3000 coins so possibly that will offer some additional bonus. Still love this game and can spend hours building bases. I’m 72 and a long time gamer. Glad to have Minecraft back in my game library.

What can I say? It’s Minecraft for the Xbox One/ Series X systems that comes with 3500 Minecraft coins. It’s on sale for $14.99 through Amazon with the coins being valued at $19.99 in the Minecraft store. I ordered it and it came within a couple of days. It was sealed and new. There are negative complaints about the Minecraft coins not being able to load and on my end it was partially true. When I tried to redeem it through the Xbox Microsoft store the code failed. I then opened up the Microsoft store on my computer and then the code worked. It worked for me so maybe it will help you. For $14.99 I would very much encourage you to buy it to add to your physical disk collection.
