Great little machine
I got the HX99G, with 500gb nvme and 32gb ram.I’ve been holding off a review ever since I got it so I can spend as much time possible with it before giving it a review. I’ve gotta say, I love it. I had a custom build pc with a i9 and a 3080ti and I downgraded to a smaller machine to make my setup cleaner and I am very very happy with it. Something to note is they say HDMI can do 4k60 but with a HDMI 2.1 cable I get 144hz out of my 4k resolution. This machine is VERY quiet by the way.Performance:Coming from a i9 and a rtx 3080ti I wasn’t expecting crazy frame rates at high settings BUT BOY WAS I WRONG. Every game I play is not maxed out at 4k cause that would be absurd for this pc. Like I said I have a 4k 144hz monitor. However maxed out at 1080p and even 1440p in most games is not out of the equation, and just cause I can’t run every game 144hz 4k ultra settings doesn’t mean I’m not using 4k! I am still using 4k in quite a lot of games. I also went into the bios and disabled the iGPU.Average fps on games I played:Fortnite 4k: 80-120fps (mostly above 100) with low/competitive settings and render distance maxThe last of us 1080p: fsr enabled solid 60fps with optimized settings I got from YouTube, was very surprised about this one as this game is very unoptimizedRust 1440p: 60-80fps with a mix of medium and high settingsMinecraft 4k (Java and bedrock): 144fps locked ultra settings with render distance at 16 for Java and max on bedrockMarvels Spider-Man 1440p: fsr enabled 80-120fps ultra settings and 4k at high constantly above 60 average of about 70ish fps.MW2 (2022) 4k: fsr enabled low settings was getting 120-144fpsUpgradability:Ram and storage is simple, just swap what you want just make sure it’s sodim ram and nvme storage, also there is 2 nvme slots, i through in a Samsung 970 evo 2tb I had lying around. Just make sure you get heat sinks for these because they overheated on the last model. The HX99G comes with heat sinks pre installed on the ram and nvme that it already comes with however so overheating there should not be a problem on this unit and hasn’t been for me.Thermals:This was tested under Celsius. Cpu usually stays around 35-50 and under load of gaming usually doesn’t go passed 75 degrees, however something to note is it didn’t go past 72 until I installed the second nvme ssd, which I believe may be is directly behind the cpu, either way cpu temps don’t intimidate me and should be good for long run. Gpu is about the same story, usually stays around 35-50 as well and under load of gaming usually stays around 65 degrees. Ssd and ram were at good temps too since they all have thermal pads on them.Overall, I’d say it’s a solid machine and you should give it a try if you’re looking for a smaller pc, performance is very solid. I sold my beefy desktop and replaced it with this with no problems so far.

It’s brilliant!
This is a seriously handy gadget and for an absolute killer of a deal. It’s not a gaming rig but it copes with some AAA games from 2017 and thereabouts. As far as a work PC goes this thing is way more for the money than some potential alternatives, especially some which are named after fruit. It performs very well for the things I do on a regular basis, like running VM’s which I use for database work. I don’t have many users (Three, sometimes four) using the DB at the same time, but with a few uysers running queries on the DB I can happily keep doing whatever work I was doing without really even noticing the other users tasks. When I have the machine all to myself it’s really fast. It’ll run 4k video without dropping many frames (Maybe a few when the video starts, none after that). I’ve installed quite a lot of software and installing and removing things is lightning fast. I also do some sound work and some video work very occasionaly, and it handles that kind of stuff just fine.. There might be faster PC’s, but I doubt very much there are many which are faster at the same price. It’s quiet, sometimes I forget that it’s even running, it occasionally makes a little fan sound to remind me that it’s alive, but usually the sound isn’t loud enough to call noise. It really is a worthwhile thing to have.

Good for the price
Update: a few months in and still going strong. I’ve noticed some games work better when launched normally and some games work better with AMD adrenaline. Nier automata did not do well launching from the AMD Adrenaline. I had to launch it normally. I had to turn off AA putting global to low but used the FidelityFX CAS and turned it up all the way but was on 1080. I got a steady 50-60 FPS. It dropped to 50 from time to time but mainly stayed at 59 FPS. I always turn on windows game optimization and add each game as high performance. I have also tried master chief collection the first game no slowdowns but I haven’t played all the way through yet. I’ve removed the HDD and made it an external HDD and play games through the USB C data port on the front with DQ11 and it still loads too fast for me to read the words on the loading page. I made my HDD an external because I needed to pull data off of another pc. Hope this helps anyone else on the fence.Well I bought this after a lot of research. I know that people had issues with thermal throttling. So I bought fans for either side of the case. Now since they are external fans it won’t keep it super cool but does help drop 5° on the APU. I haven’t experienced thermal throttling on the nvme or ram. Now that being said I did add a HDD. So far everything I have thrown at it works. I’m a casual gamer and I don’t own a 4k monitor so my gaming is limited to 1080p. This suits me fine and I have been able to run Strangers of Paradise, Horizon zero dawn, FF7 remake, roblox nier replicant, FF15 and below including the PR versions and a few AAA titles. Now the wifi part is fast which is nice since I am too far away for an ethernet cord and I’m not dropping a line to my gaming setup plus I have such a steady reliable signal I’m not worried. The Bluetooth is good but the distance is left to be desired. I have connected upto 3 things at once, two controllers and a Bluetooth headset. I did have any connectivity issues unless I drop back about 15 feet then it gets spotty for me it is not an issue because I’m not that far away. Noise is ok before I put the fans on. When you first boot it the fan goes high then drops to normal. It can power an external monitor by itself through the USB4 and I haven’t had any issues. HDMI works like it should. Now when I hook up a usb 3 hdd I get good speeds well decent speeds upto 110 mb/s. I used to get 20 mb/s with my old computer so that’s a plus. The SSD NVME is super fast. I do love the 32gb ram and in the bios I changed the VRAM to 8gb. So far it has been really good and I’m happy with it. I just wish the bottom had a fan which has the NVME, Ram and wifi card in it. The NVME does have a heat sink but that is only so good if you have a way to move the heat out because otherwise it will only do so good. I have only had it about a month so I am not sure of longevity but I’m hoping keeping everything cool will help.

This is your next desktop if you are looking for value.
Really powerful little computer. I’ve never bought a mini desktop before, but I needed something with more slots than a laptop came with and this fit the bill. The cost was really nice as well. Lots of ram and the harddrive at 2TB’s is phenomenal. This level of hardware for the price is a win. It hasn’t gotten hot at all, even with heavy design and video production work. High recommend.

After a month using this mini PC I decided to finally review it and add a few things about it:- For gamers, it’s a VERY good price for the performance. I just finished playing Hogwarts Legacy in low settings, FSR enabled with around 30fps, which is in imo very playable and still looks good. The game never stuttered, but sometimes had some loading moments between different areas, but nothing really that impacts the gameplay and the fun. Right now I am playing Ghost of Tsushima, very low settings, HDR and FSR 3.0 enabled, getting around 30fps, and just like Hogwarts Legacy, playing very well, no stutters. If you’re looking to emulate on this machine, it’s also very powerful and will run Switch games at 60fps no problem, as well as PS2 and some PS3 games.- Every day use it’s a breeze for this PC, things like browsing the internet, playing videos in 4K and editing videos and sound works super well, very snappy and no problems at all as well.- The form factor it’s also another huge benefit as it doesn’t take almost any space in my desk, and it sits just behind my monitor. If you could travel and take it with you, it’s very light and compact. Finally, the only con I can think about, and it’s very nitpicky from my part, it’s the fan noise while running some heavy games like the ones I mentioned. But other than that, there’s really no major concerns or complaints. Everything arrived correctly in the box, and was easy to set up and start using it right away.

This little PC is truly a powerhouse, exceeded all of my expectations. Unless you need a top tier PC for some very heavy gaming or video work, this thing will perform incredibly well in all other cases. Fortnite I could get 140FPS steady at low setting and 4k screen resolution, and if I bumped it down to 1440p could increase graphics settings and still get over 140FPS. Even when it was being pushed to the max, it was relatively quiet. And in all other instances, this thing is whisper quiet. The small form factor is really incredible, I don’t know how they pulled this off so well. Even though it’s a laptop GPU, because they did such a great job with thermals and are able to give the GPU full wattage, you will be surprised just how exceptionally well it performs.Lots of ports too, audio, usb-c, usb-a, hdmi, and 2.5gbit ethernet. The ports on the front are exactly what I needed too, very convenient when I have it right on my desk to plug things in quickly. As long as you’re not wanting top tier graphics performance, I fully recommend this for anyone who wants a great PC in a small form factor that doesn’t take up a huge amount of room. I can’t imagine why i would want to have a massive PC box anymore, this is definitely the future.

I’ve had this for a few months and it is fast and quiet. So much faster than the 10 YO tower it replaced. No complaints. I recommend this vendor.
