Good kit to assemble, not really teaching anything STEM, but its fun.
The kit went together pretty easily, wouldn’t recommend this kit for anyone who doesn’t have at least a little knowledge on building some things. Not even electrical or anything specific, just assembly. The screws are tiny, to save weight and this will be where the young-young builders may experience problems without help or supervision. The 3D printed joints and body of the frame were well printed. Dimensionally correct to fit the square carbon frame rods. The ONLY real issue I had after following the included instructions was that the main body and the PCB control board holder were so close together that the included LiPo battery was too fat by about 1.5-2mm to fit and slide into the intended space. I was able to use enough washers as shims to get the lift needed to create space. The included remote transmitter was even easier to assemble. The 3D printed joystick covers could have been a bit better quality, but oh well. Labels on the PCB by way of silkscreening would have done wonders for figuring out what all the buttons do. Kept having to reference the back cover of the instruction manual to make sure I wasn’t going to crash it.Once I was able to get the battery installed, the included remote performed all the functions it was supposed to do and the drone flew pretty well indoors. The cameras were the kind of quality you’d expect from such an inexpensive kit. They are at least on-par with the DJI/Tello camera quality and this drone is SIGNIFICANTLY quieter than the swarm of bees that is the Tello. The drone has already taken some crashes during calibration and a stronger gust of wind. I haven’t seen any cracks in the 3D printed parts or noticeable damage to the drone, seems pretty durable. Can’t speak on battery life yet, I haven’t flown it long enough to even run it dry yet. So far so good.

A great introduction to STEM and drones!
I have a couple of drones including a DJI Mini 4 Pro so I was intrigued when I came across the EIELEDIY Quadrotor Drone DIY Kit. It does say it is for ages 14 and up and I would recommend that they have at least a basic knowledge of building DIY projects or the assistance of someone who does. This is a fairly straightforward kit and comes with everything needed to build and fly a functioning drone. It is a great STEM kit and is a good introduction to drones, electronics, DIY kits and aerodynamics. As others have mentioned, it would be nice if the controls were labeled so it does take a little bit to figure it out but overall, it is pretty easy to operate once you do.The instructions will walk you through building the drone and helps to understand the why behind the different parts and how they operate as a whole. Battery life is great and seems to last forever and all in all is a great value for the money. I haven’t crashed it yet (knock on wood, lol) so I cannot speak to the durability, but it seems to be well made from good quality materials. Various parts are 3D printed which help keep the cost down and give exposure to another great hobby, 3D printing! I can recommend the EIELEDIY Quadrotor Drone DIY Kit: A Unique STEM Project with Brushless Motor, Optical Flow Hovering, One-Click Takeoff and Landing, and 360° Flip for DIY Enthusiasts!

Confidence Builder
One of my kids has a high interest in drones, but the others seemed to be drawn to to them when he pulled this kit out. This is a compartmented kit, not like you have to pull out a soldering iron to complete but still engaging to build. I think this kit gives a good understanding of the basic components of drone technology, as well as the physical dynamics. There are a lot of smaller components, so we have to watch out for our toddlers taste testing as they have become curious as well. Overall this is a learning set that’s not so complex it scares kids away. It’s seems to have a good introductory skill level that will build confidence and have kids wanting to take drone building to the next level.

Don’t purchase this drone
Don’t purchase this drone. The manual look real nice, but it is mostly stuff about drones and how they work. The assemble instructions are mostly photos. I did succeed, but had to make guesses on how to assemble. I had a couple parts left over with no idea what they are for.The manual says to contact their technical support directly if you have any problems. There is no phone number, website or company to contact.
