Mind blowing amount of games
Purchased as a gift for an avid gamer and they loved it. Could not believe how many games it contained. The game console (?) itself was well made with a large crisp bright screen ( that had an adjustable light setting) and had a nice weight to it. Very pleased with the purchase.

Defective on Arrival.
Was really excited to use this product but when used I noticed right on the D-Pad would not have any input and only a day later it suddenly could not find any of the games/emulators from the SD card that was still in the handheld. Took the SD card out and put it back in to no difference. Great idea for a handheld, horrible execution. I was not even allowed to contact the sellers for help as it made me go through the Amazon Customer Service chat which led me through its own unhelpful loophole of 6 different assistants.

Worth every single penny!
This retro handheld is amazing! I originally had the r36s, which was great too, but the screen is bigger and sharper on this updated console. And the back is much more ergonomic to hold. I had issues trying to add games to my original r36s console (I have a Mac) but adding the 1 game that was missing for me with the r36Max was a cinch. It took 2 seconds. Now it’s perfect. The controls ARE NOT LAGGY AT ALL, in my experience. I’ve played several games and the controls haven’t lagged once. I never write reviews but I didn’t want people to be put off from buying this because of the 1 star review from the other person. It honestly might’ve been a competitor that bought it and wrote the review. They probably returned it afterward. Don’t be afraid to buy this, it’s fantastic. It even comes with a case. I will never be bored again!

Lots of problems
1st system I received the screen went black after 15 minutes. They were very good about an exchange. Get the 2nd unit and all the games are sideways. Unplayable. Is there a setting that can be changed to get the games to play vertical? If not I’ll be sending back.
