overall great camera, but please read about the battery life.
We currently have 6 cameras on our property. We like the ease of use and functioning of the cameras. I like to be able to look on my phone while at work and see if I have a delivery at my gate or if an animal got out. I have had these since 2019 or 2020 (a while), so I feel I can give a honest review.Setting up these cameras into your mobile device or computer can be kind of a pain, but once you have them set up, they are great! The vidoes are of good quality, and you can change the settings to be clear. Night videos can be a little harder to see clearly, if there is an animal running across the camera area it will sometimes come in like a blur. (I have 4 German shorthaired pointers that tend to do zoomies in the back yard area). We have 8 acres that we have cameras throughout. We did install a wifi extender so all cameras could be reached. I have had delivery people show up at my gate and I was able to communicate with them from work through the camera’s, there is a lag, but not bad. (I will also talk to my dogs when I am at work as well, they don’t care for that! LOL)The biggest problem I have had with these cameras have been battery life. It seems that after 2 years of service, the batteries tend to not hold charges. (There is a 2 year warranty, usually on them) Also, during cold weather, they tend to not want to charge via solar nor power cord.Their customer support is one thing that keeps me buying these camera’s. They have been more than generous with problem cameras at all ages. They will communicate with me until I am satisfied with the outcome.

Hands down the best camera I have ever owned.
Incredibly simple setup. Beautifully designed user interfaces for both Win 11 and Android. Couple that to well thought out accessories for mounting the camera and a really solid camera. The image quality is excellent.I have the camera about 30 ft from my WIFI access point and separated from it by two walls. There is sufficient signal that I am getting perfect functionality. The solar panel seems to be working, but only time will tell if there is enough sunlight during a New England Winter to keep the battery charged. This makes me want to replace my other cameras with Reolink. This camera is not natively compatible with Homeassistant. It can work with Homeassistant using the Reolink Home Hub and the Reolink, Homeassistant integration.

    Good camera with some limitations
I bought this as a secondary camera to monitor our backyard/detached garage/driveway in addition to the POE hard-wired Reolink camera that monitors the front of the house. The setup is easy, though I had a difficult time scanning the setup QR code outdoors. I did eventually get it to work without having to take the camera indoors, however. I used a high endurance name-brand 256GB SD card which the camera recognized and formatted with no issues. So far the solar charging is working great — the camera has never been at less than 100% charge, even after running overnite. The wifi connection has also been very stable and strong, which I thought may be an issue after reading some reviews, and knowing our lead filled 100 year old house generally has poor signal outdoors. The 4k recording is excellent, the clarity is quite a bit better than our front door cam which is a couple of years older and maybe a 2k model? The picture is very sharp and clear. The Reolink software is highly customizable for alerts and notifications as well. We have three dogs, and my wife works from home frequently, so I have it setup so I don’t get alerts for animals or people on certain days/hours to avoid unnecessary notifications. The downsides to this camera are it doesn’t allow for continuous recording, which, as a secondary camera, isn’t a big deal. I wish this would have been clearer in the description, though. The second issue is the camera doesn’t track motion. Being a motorized camera, I assumed it would, again I wish this would have been clearer in the description. I maybe would have gone with a fixed wide angle camera instead. All in all a good product and excellent, customizable software. Really appreciate that there is NO SUBCRIPTION required to use the camera to it’s full potential. I recently added a Reolink hub which has proved to be an excellent addition with multiple cameras, and was similarly easy to setup and use.

Would not connect to home wifi
1 star due to not being able to connect to home wifi. I specificaliy ordered this camera because doc and even reviews said it would. Otherwise may be a good camera. I’ll never know.Set up camera and Mac OS laptop client. Followed instructions but it would not connect to ATT router, 2.4/5G wifi 5. The UID entered was recognized as a camera but the client but would not connect(“Device Not Found”). After a few hours of trying troubleshooting info on the internet called support. Another 2 or 3 hours of trying the same instructions as on the internet including trying a second (TMobile) router 5G wifi 6 as requested no luck. How many people have second router :). With no resolution support put in a ticket to “super” support email only. Received email saying I “should” use a phone to initially set camera up. Don’t have a phone but was going to borrow my wifes but decided too much trouble and no sure it would have been compatible with her old phone anyway. So replied was going to return and did. Next day received another email saying did not necessarily have to have a phone. Too late. Instructions on how to do this were not good anyway. Product doc also sketchy as apparently this phone has previous iterations with no name or version change, so support instructions were originally wrong. As an aside my wife got a digital picture frame for xmas. Set up in 5 minutes including finding and connecting to router immediately.Like I said may be a fine camera just not using or at least setting up on MAC OS laptop, or maybe ATT or TMobile routers.Hope this keeps someone from wasting 6-8 hours.

I found setup of both cameras to be very easy to setup thanks to Reolink’s genuinely good security camera software. They are good quality cameras. The build quality feels very sturdy and I think these two cameras will last a long time. Furthermore, I found that installation couldn’t have been easier. Just remember that the cameras need to be in range of the wireless router. The solar panels are great. If Reolink is reading this, I think it would be nice to power &/or charge the camera with both the solar panel and via a plugged in USB C cable as well. That way the outlet can be the backup power source to the cameras should the solar panels not get enough sun on a particular day to reasons of stormy weather or even snow covering the panel. The home hub is very useful to have as it encrypts and stores footage into data that is stored on two micro SD cards both which accommodate up to 256Gb. Right now I have one 256Gb card and a 64Gb card but I plan to soon make it so that both slots are 256Gb to store as much data as possible. The benefit of the hub is that the footage can not be stolen if someone were to try and take the memory card from the camera or even steal the camera with the card in it. The hub prevents those scenarios.Reolink’s software is very good. It is fast, easy to use and there are just so many settings to tinker with including setting up schedules. I find it really neat that this camera can identify people, animals or vehicles and all of which can be enabled or disabled at will or configured to operate on a schedule. The cameras are PT and not PTZ which means they lack any sort of optical zoom feature which is not great. The plus side is the picture is very good and it is easy to see a lot of detail whether it be day or night.Reolink makes very good security camera products. I think what is also neat about these cameras is that they are able to set up anywhere, even if the wifi is coming from a cellular hotspot device.
