Excellent but Expensive
The quality of this mount is excellent. All metal and strong magnetic base, not much to complain about this set aside that it is quite expensive for what you get. I would seek cheaper alternatives at a lower price point.

This is typical Rode quality. Affordable, functional and durable. It works as described and I like how reliably it functions without any wear and tear. It’s a very nice piece of equipment for being so small and simple. I highly recommend if you need the accessory.

Simple 3 pieces of metal
This magsafe mount is honestly a great tool for mobile filming but I don’t think it is $90 worth. There are many other magsafe mounts out there that will do the same job for half the price. They wouldn’t be modular and they might be plastic but they accomplish the same goal.That being said, I like how this is modular and I like how all the pieces are well machined. On the three arms. there are no bumps or rough edges on the metal and each piece attaches perfectly. The included cold shoe slots are great for attaching accessories like a mic or a light.

versatile and well made – a great accessory if you make content from your smartphone
If you make a lot of online content with your smartphone, this is a great accessory mount option. The mount features a magsafe connection. The magnet is very secure. This mount can be attached to a tripod as well as be equipped with extra attachments to facilitate both landscape and portrait mode. In addition to that, the attachments can be used to mount accessories like a mic or light. The mount as a whole seems very sturdy and seems well made. All in all, this is a quality option to simplify creating content from your smartphone.

High quality craftsmanship that I’ve come to expect from Rode
This magsafe mount is solid. Both in terms of build quality like fit & finish, but also in usage. When loading up the cold shoe “arms” with appropriately sized lights and mic (Rode VideoMic Go ||) they don’t flop or rattle around. I’m sure there’s a point at which oversized attachments may begin to stress the mounting points but either using slower movements or something more like a magsafe cage which Rode also makes.The mag safe mount attached pretty securely to all the compatible phones I had around me. If you use a case you’ll probably want to be make sure that the case has a magnetic ring embedded in it as well for a stronger attachment.I didn’t have any issues with the steel balls coming loose and so far the black coating is holding up well to my admittedly light usage.

Very handy accessory for smartphone creators
RODE is best known for high quality microphones, but this item is more like a ‘Swiss Army Knife’ for smartphone camera creators. I guess I should be more specific since you really need a MagSafe enabled iPhone to really take advantage of its versatility and functionality.It allows you to attach lights, microphones and just about anything else to your smartphone. The round part at the middle attaches to your phone and the short and long arms adapt to your specific needs and shooting configuration (eg: landscape or portrait shooting). The long arm has a 1/4″ thread that allows you to mount the phone to a tripod or grip. There’s also a 1/4″ tripod mount included. Both arms have cold shoe mounts on the end. In my testing the magnetic grip was plenty strong for any accessory that you’d realistically use with a smartphone. If you have a MagSafe enabled phone you’ll love it. Highly recommended!
