Images shine with 250 nits of brightness and a wider spectrum of colors, shades, and contrasts. 240Hz refresh rate, and 0.03ms response time (GtG) allow near-instant response time to stay ahead of the competition, and AMD FreeSync™ Premium Pro eliminates screen lag and image tears. The new OLED Safeguard+ – including Dynamic Cooling & Thermal Modulation systems – helps prevent burn-in. OLED Glare-free technology significantly reduces glare, and the Dynamic Black Equalizer analyzes and adjusts sharpness, saturation, and black details. Gaming Hub provides instant access to streaming platforms and gaming consoles, or you can watch your favorite shows with Smart TV apps. The sleek metal design with height-adjustable screen that swivels and tilts for total gaming comfort, and the Easy Setup Stand enables installation of the monitor with no tools or screws. Comes with a 3-Year warranty.
¹Based on GtG measured under internal test conditions. Results may vary by content and monitor settings. GtG (Gray to Gray) measures the time taken for a monitor pixel to change from one gray value to another. Refresh rate and response time may vary based on the performance of the input source. ²When “Adjust Logo Brightness” setting is on “Off” or “Low,” Thermal Modulation is active in preset picture modes only. When “Adjust Logo Brightness” setting is on “High,” Thermal Modulation is always active. ³Logo detection is active in AV mode only. ⁴Based on internal test results. ⁵Screen images simulated for illustrative purposes. The application of the G-Sync logo on the package and product may vary depending on the time of purchase.

Pricey but worth it for top end OLED
Such a gorgeous and vibrant screen. Spent way too long looking for an OLED and decided to trust Rtings.com as they tested tons of models. They rated this Samsung as the best 4K monitor and the best OLED monitor.Samsung software is decent. Power brick isn’t too huge. Settings aren’t too terrible to figure out and there are many options.Originally was going to get a 34″ ultrawide but at the time they were only in 1440p resolution and I prefer the taller screen as it turns out.Text clarity is fantastic compared to most OLED’s. Oh and it comes with a remote which is fun.

Don’t buy if you plan to use as a PC monitor.
The listing incorrectly says this is a gaming monitor. It isn’t. It’s a smart TV that you can hook up as a monitor. It tries to do a lot of things at the same time and is bad at all of them because of it.

Great
Removed 1 star because of the camera, the height is awful and if you lower the monitor it is not ergonomic, other than that the monitor is great, amazing quality for monitor and Tv, I use it everyday.

Significant improvement compared to earlier versions.
This monitor features several impressive upgrades compared to previous Samsung OLED models. I purchased the G85SB (34″ 1440p ultrawide) a year and a half ago, allowing me to directly compare it with the G80SD monitor that I received for this review. Whether using the included remote or the joystick controller located on the rear, navigating and switching inputs is quick and easy, without the need to interact with the smart home screen. I cannot say the same for my other G8 monitor, which experienced delays when changing inputs with the joystick or required accessing the smart menu to switch outputs, even after the most recent software update. Ultimately, I disconnected my ultrawide monitor from the internet to achieve a faster display and eliminate the app bloatware, yet it still lags and has issues waking up from sleep mode. These problems are not present with this 32″ monitor. A mini menu appears instead of a full-screen home menu, which is fantastic when using the remote. I’ve seen many others mention that the smart monitor features resemble those of a TV too much. I strongly disagree with those claims. With a home filled with Samsung displays and multiple versions of the Tizen software, I believe the software this monitor came with is one of the best iterations yet. I do not need to engage with the smart software in my usage unless I intentionally press the smart home button. I would like to point out that this new G8 operates more like a traditional monitor, offering the ability to turn off the standby timer, which was not possible on my ultrawide OLED monitor that would countdown to sleep even after you turned off your connected device. You can completely avoid interacting with the smart home menu if you prefer not to. Additionally, if the bloatware is bothersome and you have no intention of using any smart functionalities, I suggest configuring it without a Wi-Fi connection during initial setup. One more aspect that I appreciate, which is absent from my ultrawide OLED, is the smart auto-dimming that activates when there is no activity on the monitor, helping to prevent burn-in on the OLED panel. The monitor swiftly returns to its normal brightness as soon as I move my mouse across the screen. Finally, the anti-glare feature is excellent and does not compromise image clarity at all. This is a significant advantage compared to the ultrawide OLED I own, which has an exceedingly glossy finish.

Outstanding Monitor, Amazing Picture, Would Have Returned If Not For 3rd Party Software
TLDR; Intentional stupid interface decision would have made me return it if not for 3rd party software. Great monitor otherwise.Let’s start with why the 1 star. One of the dumbest choices I have ever seen in software and this was an active choice. Whenever the monitor wakes up, WHENEVER, you get the game bar popup. The first picture. That stays on the screen for 5 to 10 seconds. Oh well annoying but whatever. But it goes away and then you get the second popup for another 10 seconds. A popup telling you how to bring the game bar up. Cool a reminder when you are new to the monitor, not bad. Except no, someone thought, they may forget, we need to pop this up EVERYTIME. I’ve also been through three firmware versions since I have had it and it hasn’t changed. So, every time your monitor wakes you either wait 20 seconds with junk on your screen or you have to get the remote and press back twice. Trash design. I would have started the return the same day because of the only problem I have found the monitor and it was an intentional choice. The only reason I didn’t was because I found a fix. You either buy a service remote or you use a free third-party app (ColorControl) to access the service menu and turn off that popup. If you have made it this far, I love the monitor otherwise, I would have given it a 5/5, great picture and everything, a massive step up from my old LCD. I do dislike that it is more smart TV than monitor (I don’t need all the IoT things on a computer monitor), but I knew what I was buying into with Samsung. So every time your monitor wakes you either wait 20 seconds with junk on your screen or you have to get the remote and press back twice.
