Q1: How to change the modes?
Long press 2 seconds to change the mode, green is audio mode, red is USB connection mode, blue is Bluetooth mode.
Q2: Why do some computers show different decoding rates?
Because the speaker directly decodes the signal through the built-in chip, the corresponding parameters will not be displayed on the computer.

I rarely write reviews. Not an audiophile but definitely a critical listener. These are not a set of Epicure or Klipsch. But what they are is amazing. They are quite accurate with a very nice and flat frequency response curve. This is impressive in such a small package and for such a reasonable price. They do not get extremely loud due to their size limitations and when pushed too hard will begin to distort starting in the lower frequencies, but they will fill a room with clean, accurate, distortion free sound quite well as long as they are not pushed beyond their capabilities.Connectivity options are average with lack of optical or SPDIF, however it is more than good enough for the typical use case of replacing crummy computer or monitor speakers.I have owned these for about 4 years. They have been used an average amount, probably about 8hrs/week. They still sound like brand new. Again, impressive for such inexpensive speakers in such a compact form factor.Very happy with these. Hopefully they haven’t changed anything and you will be as pleased with them as I am.

Terrific little set of computer speakers – plenty of power, rich bass response, and easy to connect/set up. I like the presence of tone controls, easily placed for simple access. And easy to switch between connection modes – analog USB or Bluetooth. A good value.

A pretty good set of speakers but high treble
I bought these for a gift for my dad. And they seem to be very good, except for the fact that their treble is naturally very high. Even with the treble turned all the way down on its control, it does only then it become more normal sounding. Other than that, the volume connectivity options and quality seemed to be very good. They’re good, big speakers. That look nice on your desk and really produce some good clarity in audio. I believe that I bought them while they were on a sale and the price was very acceptable to me. They’re hardwired on his desk and so they were pretty much plug and play for me. I don’t use the Bluetooth functionality on them.

Nice Upgrade from the Cheapest Speakers
A big step up from crappy $20 speakers. All my life, I’ve been waiting for the cheapest speakers to get better… but somehow they only added lights that I don’t want and never improved the sound quality (you know, that thing that we buy speakers for). Anyway, these things actually have bass, and now all my music sounds sparkling and new. I hear things I never did before. It’s quite a delight. The only con is that people speaking sounds very odd now (especially people with deep voices, higher voices sound about the same). I’ve been getting used to it over the past month though, and don’t notice it as much anymore. Though I did turn the bass down all the way. I highly recommend these for anyone looking to upgrade from the cheapest speakers in existence. Bonus, there’s only one annoying light, on the side, and easily covered by tin foil and tape.

I don’t know too much about speakers, but I bought these as an upgrade to replace some cheap ones I bought off this app, and there was a huge improvement in sound quality. It comes with Bluetooth, USB, and AUX, which in my opinion is a nice detail. You can mess around with the treble and bass to find your preferred sound quality as well, and they fit perfectly on my desk. All in all, these were definitely worth the $69, and I’d recommend them to anyone interested in buying these.

volume knob doesn’t work, inadequate documentation, USB mode is extremely flaky
These are total bargain-bin speakers, poorly engineered, with design defects and no useful documentation.The biggest engineering bug is that the volume knob doesn’t work when you use it with USB. This problem is no documented anywhere on the Amazon page. It does seem to be discussed in the printed booklet that comes with the speakers, but the English is so bad that it’s hard to tell what they intended to say: “Note: When using Bluetooth mode and USB cable connection mode, the speaker volume may share the same volume with the device, so the main volume knob is not set with the highest and lowest volume scales.” If you can understand that sentence, then good for you. I’m guessing it came straight out of Google Translate.The speakers can be used in three modes, but the printed booklet that comes with the speakers doesn’t mention how to set the the mode. For this information, you need to carefully look through the Amazon page, where they have this note: “Long press 2 seconds to change the mode, green is audio mode, red is USB connection mode, blue is Bluetooth mode. ” I assume “audio mode” is intended to mean using it with a phono jack. “Long press” refers to pressing and holding the volume knob for a couple of second. This is really bad engineering. For usability, all they needed to do was make the thing detect when it’s connected to USB. (Hey, it’s not that hard for a USB device to detect that!) As it is, you get the thing out of the box and plug it in through the USB cable, and you have absolutely no idea why it isn’t working.The micro-USB cable they supply does not mate nicely with the port on the back of the speaker. It’s hard to tell whether you’re pushing it in hard enough or not. Low-quality parts, cheap engineering.One speaker has all the connectors sticking out of the back. The power cable sticks out about 6 cm. This is awkward when you’re trying to fit the speaker into a confined space, e.g., it wouldn’t fit on my windowsill. So if you’re buying these because they look compact, keep this in mind.The only good things I will say about these speakers are that they do have pretty decent bass response, and they were certainly cheap.[EDIT] I spent an afternoon doing some coding while playing sound through the speakers, and I experienced even more problems.The biggest hassle is that the USB input worked fine for a few hours and then abruptly stopped working in the middle of playing something. I tried power cycling the speakers, but that didn’t help. I had to shut down my computer and reboot to get the speakers working again, but then the USB input stopped working again after a couple of minutes. As a last resort, I plugged the speakers in via the analog phono-plug cable (which luckily I’d saved). This fixed it, but it eliminated one of my main reasons for having bought this particular model of speakers, which was that I wanted something with USB input.A second thing I noticed is that the broken behavior of the volume knob is not even consistent. What I originally observed was that the knob seemed to have no effect when I was in USB mode, and I assumed that this was what was being documented in the tortured English of the documentation, as quoted above. But I later noticed that turning the knob while in USB could actually have three different effects: (1) sometimes it has no effect; (2) sometimes it works; (3) sometimes it deactivates the speakers and the only way to recover is by power cycling.So basically it looks like whoever made the USB interface was just totally incompetent and/or didn’t do any testing. The USB interface is just completely unusable my experience.A final issue is that when I was in USB mode, I found that for some material (e.g., the PBS News Hour’s streaming programs on their web site), the sound output was extremely low — e.g., too low to be easily audible when there was background noise such as a fan. This seemingly can’t be fixed in software, because even when I max out my operating system’s volume control, I just can’t get a level through the USB interface that is loud enough. Of course, if the volume knob worked while in USB mode, then you would have a way to convince the speakers to give some more gain — but as described above, that’s a disaster.

I am not usually one to write reviews, but I think these little things deserve a write up.I had toyed with the idea of getting a large HomePod from Apple but the price tag was putting me off. The need was (only) for my work set-up and home / playing music while I work / audio for Teams meeting etc. There are quite a few similar products around but these seemed to hit the right cross-over of price and quality (based on other reviews). I have now been using them for several months and can say I am very satisfied with the results. I connect to my Mac Mini (M2) via Bluetooth and have had zero issues with connectivity. Sometimes they disconnect over the weekend, but a simple on-off operation means they are automatically re-connected again. Sound quality is really pretty good for the size. Audiophiles would probably pick them full of holes but for my needs, and the price, they are great. Stereo reproduction is really good – I sit between the speakers and sound appears to come directly from the screen.All in all very happy with them — and I have change from 100 bucks.
