Classic tunes lovingly arranged – get this version, not the easy one
This is an excellent arrangement and they nailed the difficulty level – somewhere between intermediate and expert depending on the song. I used to be a pretty decent player (I quit when attempting Rachmaninoff) but due to living in the city and having no access to a piano, I really haven’t played in 15 years. My wife and I recently moved into a new home and I was excited to get my piano back and start to play again. After a few weeks of re-acclimating myself and remembering how to read music, I’m able to plunk out the key portions to most of these songs without much trouble. A little practice will go a long way. And what I am able to play sounds terrific (as long as I strike the right keys). The arrangements of such classic tunes are extremely well done and handled with obvious care. I wish some of the baselines were a little more fleshed out, but it definitely works and sounds great. You’ll have other people who know the originals humming along or popping up to listen, no doubt. There’s also a lot more crammed in here than I expected – from the original game through the game boy and DS iterations (Spirit Tracks) and up through Twilight Princess (sadly, it came out before Skyward Sword). I’m sure they left a few favorites out for some people, but all in all, if you like Zelda music and know your way around the ivories, get this book. Definitely try the challenge over the simplified version. You’ll be happy you did.

My kids love playing these songs!
Not hard to play these songs and they sound great!

Pretty good. Not perfect.
I bought this, along with the guitar book. This book has a lot of the more recognizable songs from the series, and they are fun to play. Many of them are challenging for me, but I am not an expert musician by any means. It gives me a reason to practice and learn. Some pros:Good song list.Pages are high quality paper. Most songs sound very accurate. Some cons:The binding is very cheap. It started losing pages after a few days of use. Find a place to get it spiral bound. Not all songs are exactly right.Key signatures: I bought the guitar version also, so my wife and I could play together. For most of the songs, we’ll have to transpose.Overall, I enjoy this book, and would buy it again.

Excellent book for Zelda fans and musicians
Excellent book for Zelda fans and those trying to learn or practice piano! Has many of the memorable Zelda tunes. Many songs in the book are from the OoT game, however, most of the songs from prior games were updated or arranged to be songs in latter games so you’re still getting all the tunes you liked from just about every game. Song up to Spirit Tracks are in the book so you get Twilight Princess songs as well. The book is for intermediate – advanced players, so some songs are difficult, the majority are still simple, but none are impossible. This is the same book sold at the symphony concerts so if you couldn’t get one then, definitely get one now!I love this book and now I have both the piano and guitar editions.

a must have for any zelda fan
…if you (or someone you know) play piano, of course.this is a fantastic sampling of music from the zelda series; midna’s lament is an especially beautiful piano piece. i do wish that it included songs from skyward sword, but i can’t complain. also, most of the arrangements are very advanced. they will definitely take some time to practice. as long as you know the basic gist of the songs, you can always simplify them for your own skill level.my only gripe (worth less than half a star) is that the book is bound in such a way that makes it impossible to lay open without something holding the pages back. or risk ruining it with ugly creases! we also have the super mario for piano and for guitar and all of them have this problem. it would have been better spiral bound.

great resource!
useful book! a lot of these songs are note for note. so, for all the people commenting on how hard the songs are… it’s true some of them are pretty complicated, but thats just what the music is like in the games. lots of 16th note rhythms. great resource!also- not necesarily just for piano. i’m using it for all sorts of other stuff, mostly to make arrangements of these songs for my students. sarias song works really well for 2 guitars, one playing LH part and one on RH.. so this can be useful for any musician, not just pianists!

Works for flute players too!
My daughter was told by her band teacher that she could use piano music as sheet music for her flute. And she love all things Zelda, so I bought this for her in hopes it would work for her. She loves it. She’s been practicing playing each of the songs constantly for the last month and they sound just like they do in the games. And being that she’s playing it with a flute, it sounds a lot like she’s playing it with an Ocarina from the games. So if you have a flute player and are wondering if this piano music will work for them, it will!
