Excellent Value and Beautiful DesignThis camera is an excellent value for the price. The design looks very clean and modern, and the build quality feels solid and durable. It feels heavier than expected, which gives me confidence that it’s well made.Installation was very easy and only took a few minutes. The setup process in the app was simple and straightforward. Disappointing Upgrade – Features Don’t Work
I had high hopes for the Pan Cam v4, but this has been the worst Wyze product I’ve owned. The features that the camera is advertised to have simply don’t work.The AI detection is unusable. When tracking my dog, the camera stops and locks onto a parked car instead. Even with detection settings adjusted, the camera focuses on whatever it wants and ignores actual motion. The requirement to set a “waypoint” makes it worse—after briefly detecting movement, it jerks back to the home point, fighting with itself on what to track.The Wi-Fi is terrible. I went through two exchanges just to get a unit that would stay connected. Even then, the camera randomly disconnects. Unlike older Wyze models, this version only streams through Wyze’s servers, not your local network. If Wyze’s servers are slow or offline, you cannot see or control your camera—even locally.Yes, it records to an SD card, but playback is choppy. And if the Wyze servers are down, you must physically remove the SD card to view recordings, which is impractical depending on how you mount the camera.After dealing with repeated Wi-Fi failures, choppy SD playback, and broken AI tracking, I returned both units. I was expecting a faster, more reliable upgrade from the v3 Pan Cam. Instead, this feels like a half-tested product pushed out too soon.I subscribe to Wyze’s service and have many of their cameras, but none perform as poorly as this v4 Pan Cam. At this point, I can’t recommend it and I’m seriously questioning Wyze’s product quality going forward.

5 stars with some issues I suspect will be resolved
Instantly was ‘ready to connect’ but my phone wouldn’t do so and with over 15 other BT devices connected I know BT was working, however turning BT off and waiting a minute then back on and it found it instantly. Probably more of a overly loaded BT device issue than Wyze but people should still be aware. Is this a super high res cam monster? No. It does however exceed all other wyze devices to date and when you zoom it remains decently clear and not a 8 bit image like the previous devices. This cam is loaded with the best of everything compared to previous wyze devices. I noticed improvement in tracking, zoom, resolution, sound, spotlight function including schedules, turning speed and noise is absent, usb c connection, better mount bracket and more. Sadly it is not currently supported by tiny cam. I hope that is resolved which is what we have to you to see the cams on fire devices and since this is sold majority on Amazon wyze has never ever made a fire app, which is sad. Other than these 2 issues, one is major, it is better than all other wyze devices in everyway. Either buy this[assuming tiny cam issue is fixed if you use it and MANY do] or wait for v5 cam[ I assume that is next] if you don’t need pan. It even can connect on 5ghz if close enough which 5ghz has shorter range but far superior if you are within the 30-50 feet i’ve found it effective. As for outdoor plugs wyze said a updated outdoor cable is coming soon as by default it only comes with a very short 6′. i suspect the eufy one with usb c will work as this pulls 5v at 2 amps[10 watts] max, but I am willing to wait for wyze on this as right now without tiny cam support, the function of this for me is restricted atm anyways. If you have a dozen different cams but was waiting for a true upgrade like i was, this is your new baby daddy.-updateSaw a post from Tiny Cam dev. Update coming in the next few weeks/month to fix it, if that happens this is a solid buy.

New V4 – great picture but no turning off auto pan (now fixed) and no time lapse
[Edited November 2025, increased from 3 to 4 stars. I kept the camera. After a few weeks and several firmware updates, the always-returns-to-home-point issue is fixed. Home point is now optional. Still waiting for time lapse functionality.]Just received the new Pan Cam V4 after using the V3 version for 2 years. Initial impression – I have a tech support ticket submitted, but will most likely return the camera. Current V4 firmware is 4.70.0.2082. IF the functionality issues are fixed in firmware updates, I will happily reconsider purchasing.The good :4k picture quality is great. There’s a tradeoff though, live view lags a little presumably due to all that streaming data – especially noticeable when panning.AI tracking with person, vehicle and pet detection works way better than the V3.Connectivity is consistently quicker and more reliable than the V3.5GHz wifi connectivity in addition to 2.4GHz.The BAD:After panning the camera to a new position, it will ALWAYS return to its home point after 10 seconds. Even if recording. If the home point is deleted, the camera will return to a face-down position. There is no way to turn this off. (Finally fixed in firmware update.)There is no time lapse functionality.I purchased this camera primarily for looking at the sky, so these cons are a deal breaker. Most of my other Wyze cams I use for security. I do not subscribe to Cam Plus, but was grandfathered into Cam Plus Lite.

Have v3 and v4 cams that work absolutely fine but this pan v4 is absolutely rubbish. Manages to connect but 10 seconds later it fails reconnect and fails again only had it 2 days can’t return to Amazon as have thrown box so have had enough put it in bin and lost my 50 quid going to look for another make .

Stay away from this model!!!!! As stated in other reviews, this model is seriously flawed. I don’t understand how they could release this before ironing out the issues. Putting my v3 back up and sending this back. Come on Wyze, how could you make this big of a mistake.
